Rayagada/Ramnaguda: 07/05/26- Panchayat Raj Minister Ravi Narayan Naik, who was on a day visit to Rayagada district, met with the demand letter of self-help artisans and pump operators of Rayagada district. These self-employed artisans have been working regularly in the drinking water supply department of the Odisha government for 25 years, but till now no visible demands have been met by the state government, but the government has given them a certificate of skilled artisans. Similarly, these self-employed workers are being paid a monthly allowance of three thousand two hundred and fifty rupees. which is like a conch to the sea. “It is difficult to take their families,” the self-employed artisans said in a hoarse voice. Similarly, it is mentioned in this demand letter that self-employed artisans and pump operators should be paid monthly salary at the rate of skilled artisans, government job status, ex-gratia amount in case of accidental death while working, and employment of one of the family employees. At the time of issuing the demand letter, Sudhihar Kandagari, Simehrag Mishra, Kailash Lada Pandara, Sudhakar Behera, Srinivas Pathika, Surya Narayan Gardiya were prominently present.
