At Karlapada under Bowden block of Nuapada district, the district level sacred Akshay III festival and Farmer’s Day celebrations have been celebrated in traditional rituals with the cooperation of the district administration and agriculture department. On this occasion, District Collector Madhusudan Das attended as the chief guest and performed the ground puja. As per the traditional rituals, the puja of clay mother and plow-plow was performed. Later, the District Collector prepared the axes and started the agricultural work by sowing the seeds. The District Magistrate said that Holy Akshaya III is a symbol of Orthodoxy. Farmers need to become self-sufficient and financially empowered by capitalizing on various agricultural schemes of the government. There is a visible improvement in the agricultural sector in the district and farmers are benefiting not only from paddy cultivation but also from various family farms. He mentioned that it is possible to build a developed Nupada through the overall development of agriculture. On this occasion, the District Governor flagged off the Agricultural Rath and ‘Am Bihan Rath’.
