On the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking-2026, a discussion was held today at Sadbhavna Assembly Hall on behalf of the district administration and Social Security and Disability Empowerment Department, Nuapada. Presided over by District Collector Madhusudan Das, the discussions were held on the ill effects of drugs, prevention of illegal drug trade and creation of a drug free society. On this occasion, District Collector Madhusudan Das said that behavior change is the best change. The role of youth is very important in building a drug free society. He called upon the students to act as ambassadors of change and contribute to building a drug-free Nupada. He advised the students to develop the attitude of ‘painter’s eyes, poet’s heart and scientist’s mind’. Sub-district Social Security Officer Smreekha Nanda proposed vote of thanks. Various organizations working in the field of drug addiction were honored on this occasion. Successful students were also awarded in various competitions.
