
Malkangiri, 14/4/26: The 135th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar has been celebrated in a grand ceremony in Malkangiri district. Additional District Administration Somnath attended as the chief guest and laid garlands at the statue of Baba Saheb located at the local bus stand. On this occasion, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Dasharthi Sarabu, Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi and District Food Safety Officer Prabhas Kumar Sethi were present and paid their respects. On this occasion, the Additional District Magistrate said that Baba Saheb was not only the founder of the Constitution, but he was the ray of hope for crores of exploited and deprived. We have to build a prosperous society by adopting his mantra of be educated, organize and struggle. Students of Satya Narayan College and Ghadod College participated in the program and celebrated. Later, a memorial charan meeting was held in the district council conference room. In this meeting, the guests gave important speeches to the students. Chief Development Officer Shri Sarabu said that Baba Saheb’s life is a story of struggle and success. Students should be inspired by his ideals and engage themselves in building society. Education is the only means of empowerment. Similarly, Deputy District Collector Mr. Bhoi said that it is the duty of all of us to follow the path of equality and justice shown by the framers of the Constitution. Only by leading a disciplined life can we pay true respect to Baba Saheb. District Food Security Officer Mr. Sethi told the students that Ambedkar’s ideas for the betterment of every section of the society are still relevant today. Everyone should be aware of their rights and duties and participate in the progress of the country. District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi conducted the entire program smoothly. Hundreds of students from Malkangiri Arts College, Women’s Higher Secondary School and Ghador College participated in it. Departmental staff Harekrishna Kiriniya and Ranjan Mohanty assisted in making the program successful.
