(Salmon Bindhani) On Friday, June 12, Adivasi Maha Sangh Odisha (AMO) Kandhamal Branch, Kui Samaj Seva Samiti Phulwali and Kui Samaj Youth Council workers demanded an impartial investigation into the suspicious death of Gokul Kaher, a 2nd year student of Nebodai School at Thupaju near Phulwali, Kandhamal district. The officer met Mr. Ramendra Prasad and issued the claim. According to information, Gokul Kaher, son of Suresh Kaher and Kumudini Kaher, resident of Titheripala village of Quirimanda village panchayat under Firingia block Gochhapada police station, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hostel room of Navodaya School on April 20. Regarding the incident, the family demanded that a case be initiated on the basis of the murder charge at the Phulbali Sadar police station, but it has been alleged that the case has not been initiated despite the passage of 45 days. However, the organization expressed its displeasure as no action was taken despite this. Later on June 12, they met the district security officer and demanded an independent and thorough investigation of the incident, strict legal action against the culprits and compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the victim’s family. After hearing the complaints of the victim’s family and the representatives of the organization, District Security Officer Mr. Ramendra Prasad has given a firm promise that the incident will be thoroughly investigated. On this occasion, Adivasi Maha Sangha Odisha, Kandhamal Branch President Manoj Kumar Pradhan, Vice President Premanand Majhi, Executive Members Simar Pradhan, Trivikram Mallik, Suniti Kaher, Shankar Kaher, Kui Samaj Seva Samiti Vice President Ramakant Mallik, Chief Member Gautam Pradhan, Cultural Editor Virendra Kaher, Sameer Ghatal, Women’s Leader Soudamini Kaher, Gitanjali Kaher, Panchandra Kaher of Kui Samaj Youth Council, Achyut Jani and Sujith Deleimajhi were the chief attendees.
