
Nuapada: On the occasion of two years anniversary of the state government, a press conference has been held at Nuapada District Sadhavna Assembly Hall. Attending the event, Hon’ble Minister, Panchayatiraj, Drinking Water and Rural Development Shri Ravi Narayan Naik gave detailed information about the achievements of the state government in two years and development programs of Nuapada district. Talking to media representatives, self help group women and digital content creators, Minister Mr. Naik said that Nuapada district has reached a new direction of development by following the slogan of the state government “Development trend, across Odisha”. “Let us all move forward, develop new fields,” he urged. Nuapada district has achieved remarkable success in the field of women empowerment. 44,607 potential Lakhpati Didis have been identified in the district while 36,676 Lakhpati Didis have been created. 5,769 self-help groups have been given bank loan assistance of Rs.200.93 crore. Under the Mindaga Yojana, 108.85 lakh working days have been created in the last two years, while more than 1.35 lakh families have got employment opportunities. 40,253 families have earned more than 100 days. Water conservation, soil conservation, rural roads and livelihood assets have been created during this period at a cost of Rs 406.73 crore. In the drinking water sector, 26 drinking water projects have been completed in the last two years, benefiting more than 1.34 lakh people. Similarly, 49 solar powered drinking water projects have been completed. 634 villages of the district have been certified under ‘Har Ghar Jal’ campaign, while regular water supply is being provided to 221 villages through 5 large drinking water projects. In the field of agriculture and farmer welfare, assistance of Rs.35 crore has been provided to more than 1.82 lakh farmers and landless farmers under PM-KISAN and CM-KISAN schemes. Under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), loans of Rs.12.49 crore have been provided to 164 entrepreneurs and subsidy of Rs.1.38 crore to 49 beneficiaries. In the fisheries sector, 853 fishermen and women self-help groups have benefited from various schemes during 2024-25 and 2025-26. Fishpond development, bio-floc technology, fish seed production and wetland fish and shrimp farming have been promoted. As a result, production of about 2,000 metric tons of additional fish has been possible in the last two years. On this occasion, the problems of farmers related to rabi paddy harvesting in the district were also discussed. A representative group of 10 farmers of Beltukari village met the minister and presented their demands. District Collector Madhusudan Das assured the farmers that rabi paddy harvesting is being expedited and no token lapses will be allowed. Earlier, Minister Shri Naik participated in the ‘Urban Tree Plantation Campaign’ organized at Sakhatora Ward No.2 of Nuapada NAC. More than 2000 saplings were planted on this occasion. He called upon everyone to take the lead in protecting the environment and building a green new city. Later, he participated in the cleanliness campaign organized at Eklabya Model Residential School, Nuapada and emphasized on the active participation of all to build a clean and healthy society. District Magistrate Madhusudan Das, former MP Basant Kumar Panda, BJP district president Kamlesh Dixit, Hitesh Kumar Bagarti, SP Amritpal Singh, CDI Lambodar Dharua, various public representatives, officials, media representatives, digital content creators and members of self-help groups were present in the programme.
